Research Drawing Styles 1

The interactive comic could be illustrated in many ways although I also need to consider how they could be animated and what interactivity could be created. Therefore trials will need to be done to see which style suits the story, characters and portraits my own vision of how the story should be told.

NAWLZ have created a very modern style of drawing which really suits the story as it is based on issues which are relevant to humans in this world at the present moment. The use of colour makes these images vivid adding to the contrast between line drawings, textures and block shapes.
I also like the use of having a black background rather than white as I feel this makes the images stand out more and helps with the transitions between scenes. These are things I must consider and possibly trial whilst producing my interactive piece on Baron von Munchausen.

The project named Urbance which may become an animated series also uses a very modern style. These neon lit scenes and characters are very in tune with the story as it is based around street dancing. This needs to be ultra modern to appeal to the audience they wish to pursue.
Again very strong use of block shapes with black adding to the almost electric feel of the colours used in both character and their environments. The boldness of this is outstanding and shows that I should take some risks when doing my trials just to see what happens.

The game incredipede shows a beautiful art style, somewhat of a cross between old woodcut prints and traditional Japanese ink drawings. The use of colours are excellent and mange to create a real sense of depth to each scene. This style also lends itself very well to animation and interactions. The story of Baron von Munchausen could really suit the style of art as they are old tales, which could be given a modern twist depending on the use of colours, animations etc.
