Book Arrived

THE TRAVELS AND SURPRISING TALES OF BARON VON MUNCHAUSEN has finally arrived. For the purposes of this project I wanted to try and find a copy which is as close to the original as possible. This is to let me read the stories as they would have been told, newer versions of these stories always tend to be adapted in some manner. The copy I have received was printed in 1859 and states which stories are as the original first edition of the book. Chapters II, III, IV, V and VI are the stories which consisted of the complete first edition written by Baron von Munchausen himself. The reason I wished to get back to the original stories was to allow me the opportunity to tell the tales in the same manner as the Baron may have told them, or to adapt them with my own twist. Adapting the original tales feels more authentic than adding to already adapted versions of either books or films which have been produced in the past. Although these are always good reference to see how others have interpreted the tales. I can now look forward to reading some of these tales and decide which chapter or section would be most suitable for this project.
